Community Nursing

FirstCol works with the NHS and Social Services in providing District Nurses, Community Mental Health Nurses, Senior Carers and homecare Support Workers who work closely with GPs, social services, hospitals and other healthcare staff to provide a service tailored to meet individual client needs in the comfort of their homes. The service helps patients cope with ill health and disability, thus allowing them to have the best possible quality of life, while maintaining dignity and respect.

Complex Care

A growing number of people are living with complex care needs characterized by multi-morbidity, chronic illness, disabilities, mental health challenges and social deprivation. We support a lot of people with complex care needs providing Intensive 1-1 Nursing care in the community and well as specialist support.

End of Life Care

At FirstCol we understand that once a patient has been given a palliative care diagnosis this can be distressing time for both patient and their loved ones. FirstCol supports the patients’ rights and preferences and to empower them to remain in their own home should this be their choosing.

  • Specialist RGN’s who will lead the care plan and support both the patients and their families at this time.
  • Full service of care that encompasses the holistic needs of the patient including physical, psychological, and social care in partnership with GP’s.
  • Early intervention with regards to symptom and pain control, or any progressing condition which ensures the patient is as comfortable as possible at all times.
  • Nights sits, 24 hour care or respite
